i searched my pictures cannot not find this specific solution on a picture. I guess what is did is just cut the connector incl some wire length off the oem wire loom, extended it by soldering extra wires. and added a extra connector (male + female) a bit futher down the loom. So you do not have to touch the fragile foils pcb anymore

I remember this picture which showed the white plug assembly for extend this wiring loom section.
